When you run the Validate Payroll Data option, you may receive an error. Let's take a look at how to fix it.

Resolution

Issue
Employee (ee code) has invalid PPS number.
Employee Name (XXX) has the same PPS Number as Employee Name (XXX).
Employee Name (XXX) address contains characters that will be rejected by Revenue Online Service (ROS).
Employee (ee code) is missing address line 1 in Employee Details.
Gross Pay for Employee Name (XXX) is a negativate amount.
Tax Paid for Employee Name (XXX) is a negative amount.
Gross Income for Employee Name (XXX) is a negative amount.
Pay for USC for Employee Name (XXX) is a negative amount.
USC for Employee Name (XXX) is a negative amount.
Employee (XXX) is a Director. A Director must be specified.
Employee (XX) in Payroll "Weekly" has an Employment ID value of (XX). The same employee exists in Payroll "Monthly" (Employee XX) and has the same Employment ID.
You haven't upgraded the data in payroll (XXXXX).
Employee (XX) doesn't have an ASC Pension Scheme selected in their record.
Employee (XX) Start date is in a future tax year.
Employee (XX) has a CWPS category assigned that is no longer in use.
Employee (XX) is missing Address line 2 when enabled for CWPS, in Employee Details.
The Company Details window does not contain a tax registration number, which is required by Revenue.
The Company Name contains characters that will be rejected by Revenue Online Service (ROS).
The Company Address contains characters that will be rejected by Revenue Online Service (ROS).
One or more payments set up with the Illness Benefit Type "Employee keeps Illness Benefit". Not relevant from 2018.
One or more Illness Benefit Payments (Type "Employee gives Illness Benefit to Employer") - incorrectly marked as taxable.
Illness benefit (Type "Employee keeps Illness Benefit") has been incorrectly processed for employee XX.
Illness benefit (Type "Employee gives Illness Benefit to Employer") has been incorrectly processed for employee XX.
You have employee records older than six years - These should be removed.
Error accessing your payroll data files.
No discrepancies were found in your payroll data. However, we recommend that you complete the following manual tasks at regular intervals throughout the tax year.
