You need to record the correct director type for each employee who holds a directorship. A proprietary director controls more than 15% of the company’s ordinary share capital, directly or indirectly. All other directors fall under non-proprietary.

1. Open Sage 50 Payroll Ireland, then log in to a payroll.
2. Go to Processing, then Employee Details.
3. Select Browse next to Surname, then choose the employee.
4. Select the Personnel tab, then select Director.
5. Select Proprietary or Non-Proprietary in Type.
6. Select Save, then select Cancel.

If you have multiple directors, repeat these steps for each employee who holds a directorship.
