You need to record the correct director type for each employee who holds a directorship. This ensures accurate Revenue reporting. A proprietary director is a beneficial owner or director who directly or indirectly controls more than 15% of the company’s ordinary share capital.

1. Open Sage 50 Payroll Ireland and log in to a payroll.
2. On the menu bar, go to Processing, then select Employee Details.
3. Next to the Surname box, select Browse , then choose the relevant employee.
4. On the Personnel tab, select the Director checkbox.
5. In the Type field, select Proprietary or Non-Proprietary as appropriate.
6. Select Save, then select Cancel to return to the main screen.

Repeat these steps for each employee who is a director.
