An employee's PPS number should only show in one employee record. If there are multiple employees with the same PPS number the following error will show on the Validate Payroll Data report: 'Employee Name (XX) has the same PPS Number (XXX) as Employee Name (XX)' Duplicate PPS numbers are not allowed. There are a number of reasons why duplicate PPS numbers appear in a payroll such as incorrectly reinstating an employee with a new employee record. To prevent this from happening, ensure when creating a new employee record it does not match an existing employee's PPS number. |
