Install Sage Payroll on a single computer for the first time
Description

Once you complete the steps to Prepare to install your Sage Payroll update, you're ready to install Sage Payroll for the first time.

Install Sage Payroll

  1. Download the latest version of Sage Payroll
  2. When the prompt to save the file appears, browse to your Downloads folder, then click Save
  3. Log on to your computer as an administrator and close all Sage software.
  4. In your Downloads folder locate and right click Sage Payroll v27.2 Install.exe and click Run as administrator.
    NOTE: If additional security prompts relating to your User Access Control (UAC) account appear, you must accept these before you can continue with the installation.
  5. To accept the terms of the licence agreement, select the checkbox, then click Next.
  6. Select This Computer, then select Next.
  7. Choose one of the following options:
    Typical - To accept the default program and data folder locations, use this option.
    Custom -To change the program and data folder locations, use this option. To enter the folder details, click Browse, browse to and select the required location then click OK.
  8. Select Next, then Install.
  9. When prompted that the installation has completed successfully, select Finish.

License your software

When you open Sage Payroll for the first time, a prompt to enter your licence details appears.

If you choose License Later, you can continue to use Sage Payroll for the next 30 days without licensing it. However, each time you open it a prompt to licence the software appears each time. When you're ready to license your Sage Payroll software:

  1. Select License Now.
  2. Under Account Details, select Edit.
  3. Enter your Sage account number and Sage Payroll serial number, then select OK.

If using Sage Payroll on another computer, either Restore your latest backup to bring your data over, or Connect to the existing data.
