Legislation

The update includes the changes announced in the Budget Statement by the Minister for Finance on 1 October 2024. These changes include:

  • National Minimum Wage (NMW)
  • Universal Social Charge (USC) rate and threshold
  • Pay Related Social Insurance (PRSI) threshold
  • Emergency tax rates

Other changes

  • Gender Pay Gap reporting now excludes leavers whose finish date falls within the snapshot date range
  • A new State Pension Contributory field in the 2025 Revenue Payroll Notifications (RPNs)
  • An RPN warning appears if an employee is in receipt of State Pension (Contributory), and isn't on PRSI Code J1, M or NA

What's coming later in 2025 

  • Auto-enrolment: A new retirement savings system for employees, set to begin on 30 September 2025
  • SEPA changes: These will be introduced by November 2025
  • Online Payslips: We're developing a service that integrates Sage Payroll with Sage HR, allowing employees to access their payslips online. We aim to release this service in later in 2025
