Before you install

Complete these checks to ensure a smooth installation:

  1. Open Sage 50 Payroll Ireland 2025 and log in to your payroll.
  2. Go to Help, then select System Information.
  3. Check your current version number:
    • If it's v28.2, you already have the latest update
    • If it's v28.1, continue with the steps below
  4. Note your Program Directory and Data Directory.

     CAUTION: If your data is on a network, install it on the server and each computer. This keeps your legislation correct and prevents data issues. Install Sage 50 Payroll Ireland on a network.

  5. Back up your data.
  6. Prepare to update your software.

Download and install

  1. Close Sage 50 Payroll Ireland 2025.
  2. To download the installer, select the button below:
    Download Sage Payroll
  3. Once the download is complete, open your Downloads folder.
  4. Right-click Sage Payroll v28.2 install.exe, then select Run as administrator.
  5. Accept the licence terms, then click Next.
  6. Select This Computer, then click Next.
    If necessary, you can install Sage 50 Payroll Ireland on a network.
  7. Choose one of the following options:
    • Typical: To accept the default program and data folder locations
    • Custom: To change the program and data folder locations
  8. Select Next.
  9. Select the Add shortcuts to my desktop checkbox, then click Install.
  10. When the installation completes, click Finish.

Confirm successful installation

  1. Open Sage 50 Payroll Ireland 2025 and log in to your Payroll.
  2. Go to Help, then System Information.
  3. Check the version number:
    • If it's v28.2, you're up to date
    • If it's v28.1, repeat the installation steps, ensuring you run the installer as administrator
