Processing employees pay with Auto enrolment
Description

The AEPN will inform Payroll which employees to enrol, opt out, suspend etc. It also includes the employer and employee percentages to deduct. This is then applied in the EDIT PAY window.

If the AEPN was successful, then you don't need to do anything else at this stage. The pension deduction will automatically show as My Future Fund on the employees payslip.                       

Opting out and suspending

You don't opt employees out or suspend them in payroll yourself. Employees handle this themselves through their online employee My Future Fund portal.

When processing the pay run, the AEPN will inform Payroll of this. In the EDIT PAY window, the employee has a notification to confirm this.

Suspended message.      

The pension deduction will no longer appear on their payslip.

Refunds

If NAERSA has enrolled an employee in error, they’ll De-enrol them through the AEPN. Any refund due is paid directly to the employee and employer. This won’t show in Payroll.

Can't retrieve the AEPN

If you can't retrieve the AEPN, you can manually override the pension details.

 NOTE: Don’t use this if you already retrieved an AEPN for this period.
