Set up 2FA

NOTE: Phone call and text message verification methods have a limit of 5 codes per hour. Authenticator apps don't have this restriction. To learn about the benefits of using an app, visit our Benefits of using 2-factor authentication with an app article.

  1. Select Set up with a text or phone call at the bottom of the QR code page.

  2. Select Phone (Text message or phone call).
The image shows the phone option for setting up 2FA.
  3. Choose the country code, enter your phone number, select Text message, then select Continue
  4. You'll then receive a text message with your 6-digit code.
  5. Enter the code and select Continue.
  6. Make a note of your 24-digit recovery code and store it in a safe location.
NOTE: If your primary 2FA method is ever unavailable, you can use this one-time recovery code to log in.
  7. Select the I have saved my recovery code check box, then Continue.
  8. Setup is now complete. You can now log in to your account.

Set up a recovery method

Once you’ve set up your primary 2FA method and noted your recovery code, it’s a good idea to add a recovery method. This is an alternative email address or phone number you can use to access a new recovery code to log in or reset your 2FA.
