Cause
Resolution

Are you logging in using your own logon name?

If you're using your own logon name, for example JOHN, log in to your company with the logon name MANAGER and check the user is set up correctly.

For more details, please refer to How to set up your access rights, logon names and passwords.

Check your Demonstration Data

Log into your Demonstation Data company as MANAGER (no password required) to see if you can log into that fine. If you can then the issue is specific to your company.

NOTE: If you get the error message 'Unable to register datasource' or 'Unable to register expression library' - Read more >

Check the Company File

  1. Browse to the company file on the computer where you use Sage 50 Accounts.

EXAMPLE: C:\Programdata\Sage\Accounts\XXXX (where XXXX is the year of the version).

  2. Double-click the Company file and select to open with Notepad.
  3. Check this contains the correct path to your data.

Forgotten the manager password?

If forgotten, you can reset your Manager password.

Are you using the MANAGER logon name?

If you get this message when logging in as MANAGER, there is corruption in your data files. You must restore to a previous backup.

As you can't open Sage 50 Accounts, to restore to a previous backup you must reset your data:

  1. Check where your data is located. For help, please refer to Where is my data kept?
  2. In the data location, for example C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2020\Company.000, rename the ACCDATA folder to ACCDATA_OLD.
  3. In the same folder, create a new folder called ACCDATA to replace the one you renamed.
  4. Open Sage, in the Select Company window, select the company **** NO DATA FOUND ****

NOTE: If you only have one company, you may not get this option, please skip to step 5.

  5. In the Company Set-up window, select Restore data from a backup file and follow the on-screen prompts. Read more >
