Confirming pay in Sage Payroll.
Description
Confirm Pay is the final stage of a pay run.
At this stage, you can:
- View an overview of the pay run
- Generate a detailed report of your information
- Finalise your pay run
Resolution
The Pay Trends graph plots total employee net pay over the most recent pay runs. This includes the current one.
It also plots the total cost to the employer of employees’ pay.
The graph is a useful visual way of seeing unexpected pay changes.
For example, if all employees are on a fixed pay rate, the total employee net pay value should not change. If you do see an unexpected change, it may be because of a pay processing error.
You can use the Payslip links to generate ‘draft’ payslips. You can do this to check values for an individual employee.
As the pay run isn’t yet finalised, these are only draft payslips. These versions are not suitable to print or send to your employees.

To generate the detailed report, click the ‘Open the detailed report’ link.
The report opens in a new tab, and gives you comprehensive information about the current pay run.
You can use it to confirm that all pay values are correct.
- Select Complete Pay Run.
The Connect to ROS (Revenue Online Services) window appears. - Enter your ROS Digital Certificate details.
- Select Confirm.
You’ve now paid your employees and moved the system on to the next pay period.
The Completed Pay Run window opens. Here you can generate detailed reports and online submissions to Revenue.
To pay your employee electronically, generate SEPA or Paypath bank transfer files now. Upload to your bank over the Internet.
Subscribing to both Sage Accounting and Payroll saves time when you pay employees. You can post:
- A salary journal including the employee net pay payment
- A journal for your Revenue payment details
NOTE:
You must register Payroll and Accounting with the same email address to link them.
