Description

What is Gender Pay Gap reporting?

Ireland enacted the Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021 on 13 July 2021. The Act requires employers to report pay differences between female and male employees, including bonuses.

Who needs to report?

From 2025, employers with 150 or more employees need to report on their Gender Pay Gap. From 2026, the requirement extends to employers with 50 or more employees.

What do I need to report?

The law regulates how employers calculate and publish:

  • The number of employees
  • Employee pay
  • Mean and median hourly pay for male and female employees
  • Mean and median bonus pay for male and female employees
  • Mean and median pay for part-time and temporary employees
  • The format and frequency of reporting
