Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

Fix the error ‘Unable to load email system’ when emailing payslips or reports in Sage 50 Payroll Ireland.

Description

The error appears when you email payslips or reports from Sage 50 Payroll Ireland. It often affects users with Microsoft Outlook or users who work with unsupported email systems.

Email payslip functionality in Sage 50 Payroll Ireland only works with Microsoft Outlook 32‑bit. It doesn’t work with Outlook 64‑bit, SMTP email, or web‑based email, such as Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo.

Resolution

If you use Microsoft Outlook

Check that you use a supported version of Microsoft Outlook. If Outlook is compatible with Sage 50 Payroll Ireland, complete the steps in the email and PDF troubleshooting guide.

If you want to move to Outlook 32‑bit, speak to your IT support.

If you don’t use Microsoft Outlook

You can print payslips or create PDF files and send them manually.

Print payslips

  1. Go to Reports, then select Payroll Reports.
  2. Select the Employee tab, then select Payslips.
  3. Under Selection, choose List.
  4. Choose one of the following:
    • Laser Payslip for two‑part laser stationery
    • Security Laser Payslip for security laser stationery
    • Continuous Print Payslip for wide carriage dot-matrix stationery
  5. Select Print.
  6. When prompted, select Include employees who get email payslips, then select OK.
  7. Select Cancel to close the report window.

Save payslips as PDF files

  1. Go to Reports, then select Payroll Reports.
  2. Select the Employee tab, then select Payslips.
  3. Under Selection, choose List.
  4. Select PDF, then choose In English or As Gaeilge.
  5. Select Generate Payslips.
  6. Choose a save location, then select OK.
  7. Select OK again, then Cancel to close the report window.

You have now saved individual PDF payslips. You need to open the folder from step 8, then attach each PDF to an email and send it to each employee.
