You can receive errors when you email or export reports to PDF from Sage Payroll. This can happen if Microsoft Outlook, Windows, or PDF settings need attention. Check your version of Microsoft Outlook - Check your version of Microsoft Outlook is compatible with Sage 50 Payroll Ireland
- Make sure you're using the desktop version, not the cloud-based version
- Install all updates for your version of Microsoft Outlook
Check Run as Administrator settings - Save and close all software on your computer.
- Right-click the Outlook shortcut, then select Properties.
- Select the Compatibility tab.
- Check you've set the Run this program as an administrator checkbox as required, then select OK.
- Right-click Sage 50 Payroll Ireland, then select Properties.
- On the Compatibility tab, make sure Run this program as an administrator matches Outlook, then select OK.
Check Sage 50 Payroll Ireland can access Microsoft Outlook - Save and close all Microsoft Outlook windows.
- Open Sage 50 Payroll Ireland and log in to a payroll.
- On the menu bar, select Help, then System Information.
- Under Support Homepage, select Send to Support.
- If a new Outlook email opens with two attachments, you've set up Outlook correctly
- If nothing happens or an error appears, contact your IT support
Set Outlook as the default mail provider - Press the Windows + R, type control /name Microsoft.DefaultPrograms.
- Select OK, then Set your default programs.
- Select Outlook (desktop), then Set this program as default.
- Select OK.
- Right-click any file, for example, a Word document, select Send To, then Mail Recipient.
Install Windows updates - Save and close all software, including Sage 50 Payroll Ireland.
- Press Windows + R, type wuapp, then select OK.
- Select Check online for updates from Microsoft Update.
- Follow the steps to download and install all available updates.
- Restart your computer and log in as a Windows administrator.
- Repeat until no more updates are available.
Re-install the Sage PDF driver - Open Sage 50 Payroll Ireland and log in to a payroll.
- Go to Help, then select System Information.
- Select the Program Directory link.
- Open the PDF folder.
- Double-click Install.exe, then select OK.
Check the Sage PDF Printer port - Press Windows + R, type control printers, then select OK.
- Right-click Sage PDF Printer 5.50, then select Printer Properties.
- Open the Ports tab, then select the NUL check box.
- Select Apply, then OK.
