Why can't I unallocate a transaction?
Description

Sometimes within the Transactions module in Sage 50 Accounts, if you select a transaction you can't select the Unallocate option.

Below we explain why the unallocate option isn't available for you and what you must do instead.

Cause
Resolution

Not allocated

The selected transaction is not currently allocated to another transaction.

Non-base currency

Foreign Trader is active and the selected transaction is a non-base currency.

Instead you must delete the transaction which also corrects the revaluation postings.

CIS transaction

The CIS module is active and the transaction is a CIS purchase invoice (PI), purchase credit (PC) or purchase payment (PP).

Instead you must delete the PP and the PC is deleted automatically.

Link removed

The transaction is allocated to a transaction that no longer exists, for example, due to repaired data corruption.

These transactions can't be unallocated or deleted. Read more >
