Delete a company
Description

If you no longer need to a company to be listed on your Sage 50 Accounts, you can delete it.

NOTE: This is not the same as the 'Remove company' function on the Company Selection window which only removes the company from your list of companies. The 'Delete company' function deletes all your company data.

Resolution

CAUTION: We strongly recommend you take a backup of each company before you delete any companies as this deletes all of the data.

If the company is on Remote Data Access (formerly Sage Drive) we recommend you disconnect it from Remote Data Access at all sites before you delete the company. 

  1. Ensure you aren't logged in to the company you want to delete.
  2. Whilst logged in, click File, click Delete Company then if prompted enter your password.
  3. Select the company you want to delete, click Delete Company then click Yes.
  4. Click OK then click Cancel.

 NOTE: The first company you create is the default company and can't be deleted. Instead, you can use the Rebuild option to remove all or selected data from your company.
