NOTE: Before following the steps in this article, please install the latest Sage Accounts updates.

Run Sage Accounts as an administrator

To do this, right-click the Sage Accounts icon then click Run as administrator.

Try opening Sage Accounts. If Sage Accounts opens successfully, to permanently set the shortcut to run as administrator:

  1. Right-click the shortcut and click Properties then click the Compatibility tab.
  2. Under Privilege Level, select the Run this program as an administrator check box, then click OK.

If the issue persists, please continue to the next section.


Check your regional settings are set to UK
  1. Hold down the Windows key and press R then type intl.cpl and click OK.
  2. Click the Formats tab and set Format to English (United Kingdom) or English (Ireland).
  3. Click OK then click the Location tab and set Current location to United Kingdom then click OK.
  4. Restart your computer.

Try opening Sage Accounts. If the issue persists, please continue to the next section.


Reset your licence information
  1. Close Sage Accounts.
  2. Rename the folder C:\Program Data\Sage\SDK Licence to C:\ProgramData\Sage\SDK Licence OLD
  3. Browse to C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts and delete the sage.usr file.
  4. Open Sage Accounts and reenter your licence information.

If the issue persists, please continue to the next section.


Exclude URL from proxy server

Exclude the following URL from the proxy server

https://licensing.services.sage.com/lic/services/LicenceService

For assistance with configuring the proxy server, please refer to your local IT support.

Try opening Sage Accounts. If the issue persists, please continue to the next section.
