Summary

Information on the SEPA changes and mandatory fields in employee and company details in Sage 50 Payroll Ireland.

Description

From November 2025, SEPA files need a structured address. This means you must enter either a Town or Address Line 2 for employees and your company.

What you need to do

For both company and employee records:

  • Best option: Enter the Town field, which appears in the SEPA file
  • Alternative: If a town doesn't apply, leave it blank and enter Address Line 2 instead
  • You need to complete at least one of these fields; if both are blank, you'll see an error when saving the record

Validation behaviour

  • Town complete: Town goes into the SEPA file, no warning
  • Town blank and Address Line 2 complete: Address Line 2 goes into SEPA, no warning
  • Both blank: Nothing goes into the SEPA file. You receive a mandatory error when saving

Run Validate Payroll Data to check every employee, and the company has either Town or Address Line 2.
