Download your Revenue Online Services (ROS) certificate so you can retrieve Revenue Payroll Notifications (RPNs) in Sage 50 Payroll Ireland.
Description
Before you can retrieve RPNs in Sage Payroll, you must download your ROS certificate.
Download a new copy if:
- You see the error 'Cert is not active'. Revenue have revoked or expired your certificate
- You changed your ROS password, but still use an old certificate
- The system can’t recognise the certificate file type
NOTE: If you can't download your certificate from the Revenue website, contact Revenue for support.
Resolution
Create a ROS folder on your desktop
- Right-click your desktop, select New, then Folder.
- Name the folder ROS.
- If a folder already exists, open it and delete old certificate files.
TIP: File names end with .p12 or .p12.bac.
Download the certificate
- Go to the ROS login page.
- Select Manage My Certificates.
- Select Save a copy of the certificate.
- Select Save.
Move your ROS certificate
- Press the Windows key and E.
- Go to your Downloads folder and find the certificate file.
NOTE: File names end with .p12.bac. Check that the date modified matches when you downloaded it. - Right-click the file, then select Copy.
- Open the ROS folder, right-click, then select Paste.
- Check the filename for extra characters.
If you see a number in brackets, rename the file and remove the number.
You can now retrieve Revenue Payroll Notifications (RPNs) in Sage 50 Payroll Ireland.
