Manage cloud connection in v32.0 and above
Description

 NOTE: If you're using Sage 50 Accounts v31.1 or below, follow our alternative Manage cloud connection article.  

If you use any of the following connected services:

  • Bank Feeds
  • Invoice Finance
  • Invoice Payments
  • Satago
  • Customer Account Portal
  • Sage for Accountants

You’ll see the message below if you:

  • Restore a backup onto a different computer
  • Need to authenticate your Sage account details
  • Update to v32.0 or above

When you install v32.0 or above, or restore your data to a new location, you'll see this window. This only appears if you had a connected service set up before.

  • Pick an option to update your data correctly

There are two options to choose from. The table below explains which option to choose for each scenario:

Scenario Which option to select? Reason
If you're an accountant, and your client has sent you a backup to make adjustments or run reports (etc.) Work without connected services You don't need Cloud Connected services to change accounting data or to view records.
You're a Sage 50 Accounts user and take a backup from the office to home, to complete some work at home. Work without connected services You don't need Cloud Connected services to change accounting data.
You upgrade to v30.1 or above, from v29.2 or below (and don't use Remote Data Access). Work with connected services You've upgraded your program. We need you to sign in with your Sage account to complete the process.
You restore a backup created before v30.1. Work with connected services You've upgraded your data. We need you to sign in with your Sage account to complete the process.
You move data for troubleshooting purposes. Work without connected services No need to connect your Sage account.
You move data because you get a new server. Work with connected services This is a brand-new location. You need to sign in with your Sage account.
If your Sage account details have become invalid. Work with connected services The software requires your Sage account to continue.
You have no internet connection, or the Sage account service is not available.  Work without connected services Where the service is down or no internet is available. When the user logs in, they'll need to select work without Sage account.
If you're an accountant using Client Manager and you install v30.1 or above before your client has updated. Work without connected services The accountant can work as normal but the client needs to log in with their Sage account on their computer to resolve.
If you're an accountant using Client Manager and you restore a backup from v29.2 or below into v30.1 or above. Work without connected services The accountant can work as normal but the client needs to log in with their Sage account to resolve.
If no access to the email for the Sage account. Work without connected services If you need to reconnect but don't have access to the email for the Sage account. You can disconnect all connected services.
Restored into a new location and you want to disconnect all cloud-connected services. Work with connected services Log in with your Sage account and then click Connected Services and then Disconnect Sage Account
If you were using a 32-bit version of Sage 50 Accounts, and upgrade to a 64-bit version. Work with connected services Your Sage account details are in a different location. We need you to log in with your Sage account to complete the upgrade.

 NOTE: Select Work without connected services if you don't want to use Connected services or can't recover the account linked to them. Follow this article to disconnect your connected services.
