You can't delete reconciled bank transfers or transactions included on a VAT Return. Therefore, if a bank account has transactions, you must deal with these first.

Deleting the bank account

1. Go to Banking, then Bank accounts.
2. Locate the bank account you need to delete.
3. Select the Delete button and select OK to confirm.

If you can't see the Delete button, you'll need to complete some of the tasks below:

Delete the opening balance

Delete any opening balances before you can delete the bank account.

Delete a bank transfer

Delete the bank transfer from both bank accounts and the bank balances will adjust accordingly.

If you've entered other transactions in error for this bank account, delete them next.

Make a bank account inactive

When you can't delete bank transactions, make the bank account inactive instead. This hides the bank account and prevents you from posting further transactions in it. Follow our guide to make bank accounts inactive.

• Enter an opening balance for a bank account
