You can prevent yourself or others from creating transactions for a bank account by making it inactive. This is useful for when you have bank accounts you no longer use.

Once set to inactive, we hide the bank account when you create transactions. Although it will still appear in reports.

• All accounts
• Active accounts
• Inactive accounts

You can't set a bank account as inactive if:

• It's connected to a bank feed. You need to disconnect your bank feed first
• It's used to post your payroll data automatically to Sage Accounting as a journal, if you have payroll integration
• There are draft transactions entered

Set an account as inactive

To make a bank account inactive:

1. Click Banking and open the relevant bank account.
2. Under Account Status, select Active.

3. Set the status to Inactive.
4. Save your changes.
