Description

Stripe is a secure, online payment service that you can connect to Sage Accounting Start to take card payments from your customers.

What you need to know

If you don't already have a Stripe account, set one up as part of this process.

Use a new Stripe account that you're not already using to manage payments from other sources.

Connect to Stripe

To connect to Stripe and set up a new account:

  1. From More, select Apps and connections then Stripe.
  2. Review the Stripe fee information.
  3. Create a new Stripe account to use with Sage Accounting.
  4. Select Create Account, and complete the sign-up form.
  5. Select Authorise access to this account
  6. In the Manage Connection page,

    ensure that the correct ledger account records Stripe fees and payouts

    .
  7. Select Save

To connect to Stripe using an account you've already set up:

  1. From More, select Apps and connections then Stripe.
  2. Review the Stripe fee information.
  3. Only use a new account with Sage Accounting.
  4. Select Sign In, then Sign In to Stripe. Enter your Stripe Credentials.
  5. In the Manage Connection page, ensure that the correct ledger account records Stripe fees and payouts.
  6. Select Save
What are payouts?

A payout is when Stripe transfer the money received from your customers to your nominated bank account. When you set up your Stripe account, you choose the bank account to use for these payouts.

Stripe usually makes payouts every two weeks.

Where will your Stripe fees show?

By default, we record Stripe fees in the ledger account for Bank charges and interest.

To change this, choose a different ledger account from the dropdown list and click Save

Where will your payouts transfer to?

Ensure the selected ledger account here matches the bank account receiving your Stripe payouts, typically the default one set up during Stripe account creation.
