When installing your Sage Accounts software, the following message may appear:

'Error 1920: Service Sage 50 Control Service failed to start'

We're sorry you're having an issue installing Sage 50 Accounts. Lets get this fixed, start by stopping your Sage Services, to do this, press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard, then enter Services.msc and press enter.

Next, scroll through the list of services and right-click Sage 50 Accounts Service then choose Stop.

Once you've done that, follow the steps below:

1. Press the Windows key + E then browse to C:\Windows\Temp\.net
2. Right-click the Sage.UK.Accounts50.Data.Service.Control_vXX folder, click Delete then click Yes.
3. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard.
4. In the Run window, where it says Open, enter services.msc then click OK.
5. Right-click the Sage 50 Accounts Control service, then click Start.
