Remove a company from Remote Data Access completely

You can use the Remove From Remote Data Access option to remove a company from Remote Data Access.

When would I need to do this?
  • When you no longer want to use Remote Data Access for that company and don't want users to access the company data remotely.
  • As part of the process to reset Remote Data Access, which is a last resort fix if you are experiencing issues with Remote Data Access.
  • Sage 50 Accounts v27 only - You want to set up a different computer to be the main site on Remote Data Access.

NOTE: If you only want to remove remote access to one computer, but still use Remote Data Access for other sites, do not use Remove option. Instead use the Disconnect From Remote Data Access.

Backup your data

We recommend you take a backup of your data before you begin. Ensure all users log out of the relevant company. 


Make a note of current Remote Data Access users

If you want to re-upload you company to Remote Data Access and reconnect your users, before removing Remote Data Access, to make a note of each remote user's current Sage account email address from within your company click Settings then click User Management and click Users.


Remove Remote Data Access

Using Sage 50 Accounts v27? These steps must be followed at the main site.

  1. Open Sage 50 Accounts.
  2. On the Company Selection window, click the 3 dots to the left of the relevant company.



  3. If you use Sage 50 Accounts v28, click Remove From Remote Data Access.



    Using Sage 50 Accounts v27?
    Click Remove Remote Data Access instead.

    NOTE: If you only want to remove remote access to one computer, but still use Remote Data Access for other sites, do not use 'Remove' option. Use the Disconnect From Remote Data Access option instead.

  4. Enter the password for the manager logon name click OK. 
  5. Click Yes then click OK.
 TIP: If you want to set this up again, first click Settings, Connected Service Settings and click Disconnect.


Other sites

v28 and above

The company will still show on the company selection window on other sites, but when you try to log in, the user gets an error message telling them the company is no longer available.

To remove the company from Remote Data Access at this site, please follow the same steps in the Remove Remote Data Access section above.

v27

The company will still show on the company selection window on other sites, but when trying to logon the user will get an error message telling them the company is no longer available.

To disconnect from this company from Remote Data Access at this site, follow the steps in Disconnect a remote site from Remote Data Access - Sage 50 Accounts v27
