There are several statuses you can use to manage the progress of your quotations. Let's take a look.

Quote statuses available

Quotes can have one of the following statuses:

Open This is the default status and can be changed to Won, Lost or Expired.
Won When a customer accepts a quote, you can change the status to Won. You can't change the status of a Won quote.
Lost If a customer doesn't accept the quote, you can change the status to Lost. If required, you can change a Lost quote to Open.
Expired When the expiry date of a quote passes, the status automatically changes to Expired. To change the status of an expired quote, open the quote and change the Expiry date.

Any quotes that you enter appear in the Quotations window. The quotes also appear in either the Invoicing window or the Sales Order Processing window, depending on the type of quote created. The Type column displays different text in the different windows dependant upon the status of the quote:

Change the status of a quote

  1. Click Quotations and click the quotes that you want to change the status of then click the appropriate option from the toolbar or right-click the quote then choose one of the following options:
    Mark as won Converts the selected quotes to an invoice or sales order. 

    Only quotes with a status of Open can be set as won.
    Mark as lost Sets the status of the selected quotes to Lost.

    Only quotes with a status of Open or Expired can be set as Lost.
    Mark as open Sets the status of the selected quotes to Open. 

    Only quotes with a status of Lost can be set as Open.
    To set a lost quote as won, you must change the status to open then to won.
  2. Click Yes then click Close.
