How to correct a quotation
Description

There may be times where you need to delete or amend a quotation, or have incorrectly marked it as won or lost. Let's correct your quotes now.

Cause
Resolution

Delete a quotation

To remove a quotation you must set the status to Lost and then delete it.

  1. Click Quotations and select the quotation then click Mark as lost and click Yes.
  2. Click Delete then click Yes.

Edit the details on a quotation

  1. Click Quotations and select the quotation then click Edit.
  2. Amend as required then click Save and click Close.

If the quotation is marked as won, any amendments you make also appear on the relevant sales order or invoice.

Quotations incorrectly marked as lost or won

Flagged as lost

If you incorrectly flag a quotation as lost by mistake, you can change it back to open, and then won if required.

  1. Click Quotations and select the quotation then click Mark as open and click Yes.
  2. If the quotation is won, select the quotation and click Mark as won then click Yes.

Flagged as won

If you incorrectly flag a quotation as won, this converts it to a sales order or invoice. To correct this you must delete the relevant sales order or invoice, then if required, recreate the quotation. The order or invoice has the same number as the quotation.

TIP: In Sage 50 Accounts Profession, you can memorise the quotation before you delete it, then recall it to recreate it.
