| Connecting to your Sage Accounts data using a UNC path |
Description | A UNC path is the path to a folder or file on a network. A UNC path contains the server name in the path, and tells Sage where to find your data. An example of a UNC path is: \\server01\sage\accounts. In the steps below, we show you how to change your data path from a mapped network drive to a UNC path. |
Resolution | Find the UNC path for a mapped drive - Hold down the Windows Key and R.
- Type CMD and press Enter.
- In the CMD window, type net use, then press enter.
A list of all mapped drives appears. The UNC path is in the Remote column. Change a mapped drive to a UNC path - Browse to the following directory:
TIP: You'll need to show hidden files and folders if you can't find these folders. - Select the mapped drive path and press Delete.
- Type in the UNC path you obtained in the steps above.
- On the menu bar, click File then click Save.
