| Connecting to your Sage Accounts data using a UNC path |
Description | A UNC (Universal Naming Convention) path is the path to a folder or file on a network. A UNC path contains the server name in the path, and tells Sage where to find your data. An example of a UNC path is: \\server01\sage\accounts. In the steps below, we show to change your data path from a mapped network drive to a UNC path.

- Double-click the Company file and choose Notepad, then click OK.
- Select the mapped drive path and press Delete.
- Type in the UNC path.
TIP: To find the UNC path for a mapped drive, press the Windows key + R then type cmd and click OK then type net use and press enter. A list of your mapped drives appears, together with the relevant UNC paths.
- On the menu bar, click File then click Save.
