| | Connect to your Sage Accounts data using a UNC path |
| Description | A UNC path is the path to a folder or file on a network. It contains the server name in the path, and tells Sage where to find your data. An example of a UNC path is: \\server01\sage\accounts. In the steps below, we show you how to change your data path from a mapped network drive to a UNC path. |
| Resolution | Find the UNC path for a mapped drive - Hold down the Windows Key and R.
- Type CMD and press Enter.
- In the CMD window, type net use, then press Enter.
You'll see a list of all mapped drives. The UNC path appears in the Remote column. Change a mapped drive to a UNC path - Browse to the following directory;
| Sage Accounts v33 or above | C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\Vxx | | Where Vxx is the version. For example, v33. | | Sage Accounts v32.1 or below | C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\20xx | | Where 20xx is the year of your software. For example, 2026 is v32. |
- If you can't find the above directory, show hidden files and folders first.
- Double-click the Company file and choose Notepad, then click OK.
- Select the mapped drive path and press Delete.
- Type in the UNC path you obtained in the steps above.
- On the menu bar, click File then click Save.
