Activate the Use Email feature

You can save time and money by emailing payslips and reports to your employees. You can also password-protect emails for extra security. The email feature only works with the 32-bit desktop version of Microsoft Outlook. It doesn’t support SMTP or web-based email, for example, Gmail or Yahoo.

  1. Go to Company/Payroll, then select Company Details.
  2. Open the Email tab.
  3. Select the Use Email Feature check box.
  4. Complete the optional fields as required:
    • Show Message Before Sending Payslip: Preview or personalise each payslip email before sending
    • Request Read Receipt: Receive a notification when an employee opens their email
    • PDF Password: Enter a password to open emailed or PDF payslips without using the employee’s PIN
       NOTE: This password only prevents unauthorised viewing. It doesn’t stop someone from editing the PDF if they have PDF editing software. 
  5. Select OK.

You can now email documents from Sage 50 Payroll Ireland.

 TIP: Sage 50 Payroll Ireland uses your default Outlook profile to send emails. If you need to change the profile, follow Microsoft's guidance on switching profiles.
