New security measures

Sage 50 Accounts contains security measures which prevent password security from being bypassed by copying .dta files from one company to another. This message appears if files have been replaced manually in breach of the software licence agreement or if third-party software on the computer copies or replaces Sage data files.

If the error appears at a remote site (v27 only)

Data corruption

This message can also be caused by data corruption. If no files have been copied or replaced and you have an error-free backup, you can create a new company using the backup. If you don't have a backup, or your licence doesn't permit additional companies, for further help please contact us >

Once the data corruption is resolved, you should then disconnect and reconnect to the data.
