  2. Check if the drive letter in the error message exists:

  • If the drive letter already exists, don't attempt to create a temporary drive. Check the Windows user and update the system registry

Check the Windows user

Confirm that the Windows logon isn't causing this issue.

  • Create a new Windows user and try installing again

If the error still appears, create a temporary drive for the missing drive letter.

Create a temporary drive

You can create the missing drive by allocating the missing drive letter to a USB flash drive:

  1. Insert the USB removable storage device.
  2. Press and hold down the Windows key and press E.
  3. Check the drive letter allocated to the USB removable storage device.

The system allocates the next available drive letter to the USB removable storage device.

  • If the system allocates the missing drive letter, you can now install the software
  • If the system allocates any other drive letter, proceed to step 4

  1. Press and hold the Windows key and press R.
  2. In the Open box, type diskmgmt.msc then click OK.
  3. Right-click the USB removable storage device and click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
  4. Click Change and select the Assign the following drive letter option.

  5. From the drop-down list, select the missing drive from the error message. For example, C.

If the message refers to a different drive letter, choose the relevant letter from the drop-down list.

  6. Click OK and Yes to confirm.
  7. You can now install the Sage software.

NOTE: Don’t install the software to the new drive you've created.

Once the installation has been successful, the USB flash drive can be removed as normal.
