Troubleshoot missing reports and layouts
Description

If you can't find a report or layout you need, you can follow the steps in this guide to restore it into your software. Let's look at how to do this.

Standard reports and layouts

You can restore the Sage Reports and layouts only backup, which will retrieve any missing or deleted reports and layout files.

Customised reports and layouts

Reasons why your customised reports and layouts are missing:

  • The file's deleted
  • You've moved machines or servers and have restored a data files only backup
  • You've upgraded versions and the report has not transferred over

Customise a standard layout

If you cannot locate the document and have no backups, you can amend one of the standard documents and customise to meet your requirements.

Prevention

  • We recommend that you to create a backup of just your reports and layouts regularly. This can easily be restored if you lose or delete layouts or reports in error
  • Make your design easy to spot in a list - You can right-click and rename reports and layouts, you can make your designs stand out in the list by giving them good descriptive names
