Create a product invoice
Description

When you create an invoice to send to a customer, you can either create a product invoice, or a service invoice.

Below we run through the simple steps to create a product invoice.

TIP: In Sage 50 Accounts v27 and above you can create a customised alert to appear when you select a specific customer or product. Read more >

  1. Click Invoices and credits then click New invoice.
  2. In the Format drop-down click Product then in Date enter the invoice date.
  3. In the A/C drop-down click the customer then click OK.
  4. Under Product Code click the drop-down and select the required product.
  5. To edit the item details, such as department, discount or VAT, click the Finder button.
  6. If required, complete the Order, Footer, and Payment tabs.
  7. Click Save.

    If you entered payment details, a Create Payment prompt appears. To post the payment now, click Now, or to post the payment when the invoice is updated, click On Update.

Once created, you can print your invoice and update ledgers so the values appear in your customer and nominal accounts.

TIP: If you want to show both products and a service on one invoice, in Sage 50 Professional you can add a message line for a one off service item.
