Payroll submissions provide the data NAERSA uses to assess eligibility. Assessment doesn't happen instantly. Instructions appear only when NAERSA needs payroll to act.

When must I submit payroll?

Submit payroll by 6:30 pm on the payment date. You can submit earlier on the same day or in advance.

Can I submit payroll early for holidays?

Yes. Submit payroll before 6:30 pm on the payment date.

How does year-end affect submissions?

Auto-enrolment applies from the first payroll paid in 2026. This applies even if part of the pay relates to 2025.

What if an employee has no Personal Public Service Number (PPSN)?

Process payroll as normal. NAERSA assesses eligibility only after a PPSN appears in payroll submissions.
