You see this error in Sage 50 Payroll Ireland when the PPSN and Employment ID don’t match the details on Revenue Online Service (ROS).

Description

When retrieving the RPN, you can see the following error message:

'Invalid PPSN and employment ID combination'

This usually occurs after a recent change to an employee’s details in Sage 50 Payroll Ireland or on Revenue’s side.

Resolution

  1. Log in to ROS and download the latest RPN.
  2. Check who's listed on the RPN and compare their details with Sage 50 Payroll Ireland.
  3. Identify the employee with mismatched details.
  4. Contact Revenue for guidance on why the details don’t match and how to resolve the issue.
