2020 legislation changes

With Sage Business Cloud Payroll, you can be confident that your service is always up to date with the latest legislation. It automatically updates with the legislation changes announced in the Budget Statement.

Employer PRSI increases

The legislation for 2020 remains the same aside from an increase in the National Training Fund Levy portion of Employer PRSI by 0.1%. Meaning Employer PRSI increases for Class A and Class H.

Class A

• 8.70% to 8.80%
• 10.95% to 11.05%

Class H

• 10.25% to 10.35%

 TIP: Updating Revenue Payroll Notifications (RPNs) These will be made available to you, for each employee that is currently registered with Revenue as working for your company, before 1 January 2020. When you move into your first pay run of 2020, the Retrieve RPNs functionality is automatically switched on in your Sage Business Cloud Payroll service. If no RPN’s are available, then you must operate the emergency basis of income tax and USC.
