Main directories

  • Program directory: Stores files and folders for the Sage 50 Payroll Ireland application
  • Data directory: Stores files and folders for your payroll data

Important files in the program directory

  • Install.exe: Use this to reinstall the PDF driver when reports fail to create PDFs
  • Dataloc.ini: Stores the location of your payroll data
  • Sage Payroll.exe: Opens Sage 50 Payroll Ireland. Older versions use Micropay.exe
  • SetupSBD.exe: Repairs, reinstalls, or uninstalls the SBD framework

Important files in the data directory

  • ACCOUNTCODE.TXT and SERIALNUMBER.TXT: Store your account number and serial number
  • Payslip.ini: Stores Quickpay payslip settings if you use Quickpay layouts
  • MPPrint.ini: Stores report configuration settings
  • Archive folder: Holds archive backups for each tax year and payroll
  • ROSData.db: Stores Revenue RTR information for RPNs and payroll submissions. Edit this file only when Sage support tells you to do so

Other useful files and folders

  • SagePayroll.log: Stores payroll log information. You need to upload this file during data repair
  • SBDSoftwareUpdates: Stores downloaded update files. Rename this folder if the auto updater doesn't work
