Manually remove a local company to replace it with Remote Data Access data

Summary

This guide help you replace your local company with a comapny shared using Remote Data Access when using a single company licence.

Description

If you've a single company licence for Sage 50cloud Accounts and you want to replace your company with a company shared using Remote Data Access, you can easily do this using the Replace company option.

Resolution

NOTE: Before you follow the steps below, we recommend you back up your local company data and read our help guide on the replace company option.


  1. Close Sage 50cloud Accounts, press the Windows Key  + R on your keyboard, enter Services.msc then click OK.
  2. Right-click each of the following services then click Stop:
    Sage 50cloud Accounts v28
    • Sage 50 Accounts Control v28
    • Sage 50 Accounts Service v28
    Sage 50cloud Accounts v27
    • Sage 50 Accounts Control v27
    • Sage 50 Accounts Service v27
  3. Press the Windows Key  + R then browse to the relevant folder as follows:
    Sage 50cloud Accounts v28C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2022
    Sage 50cloud Accounts v27C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2021
  4. Right-click the file called COMPANY then click Delete.

    There’s also a folder named company.000, make sure you do not delete this folder.

  5. Double-click Company.000, right-click ACCDATA, click Rename then rename the folder to OLDACCDATA.
  6. Create a new folder called ACCDATA.
  7. Close the browser window, press the Windows Key  + R on your keyboard, enter Services.msc then click OK.
  8. Right-click each of the following services then click Start:
    Sage 50cloud Accounts v28
    • Sage 50 Accounts Control v28
    • Sage 50 Accounts Service v28
    Sage 50cloud Accounts v27
    • Sage 50 Accounts Control v27
    • Sage 50 Accounts Service v27
