Description

Once you complete the steps to Prepare to install your Sage Payroll update, you're ready to install Sage Payroll for the first time.

Resolution

Install Sage Payroll

  1. Download the latest version of Sage Payroll
  2. If you're prompted to save the file, browse to where you want to save it, then click Save
  3. Log onto your computer as an administrator and close all Sage software.
  4. Locate and right-click the downloaded SagePayroll_V27.1.exe, file and click Run as administrator.
    NOTE: If additional security prompts relating to your User Access Control (UAC) account appear, you must accept these before you can continue with the installation.
  5. To accept the terms of the licence agreement, select the check box, then click Next.
  6. Select This Computer, then click Next.
  7. Select one of the following options:
    Typical - If you want to accept the default program and data folder locations, use this option.
    Custom - If you want to change the program and data folder locations, use this option. To enter the folder details, click Browse, browse to and select the required location then click OK.
  8. Click Next, then Install.
  9. When prompted that the installation has completed successfully, click Finish.

License your software

When you open Sage Payroll for the first time, you're prompted to enter your licence details.

If you click License Later, you can continue to use Sage Payroll for the next 30 days without licensing it. However, you'll be prompted to license the software each time you open it.

When you're ready to license your Sage Payroll software:

  1. Click License Now.
  2. Under Account Details, click Edit.
  3. Enter your Sage account number and Sage Payroll serial number, then click OK.

If you've been using Sage Payroll on another computer, you can either restore your latest backup to bring your data into this new installation, or connect to the existing data on your company network.
