Download and install the Sage Accounts Data Service

Before you start

Ensure your computer or server meets the System requirements for Sage 50cloud Accounts and the Firewall requirements for Sage 50cloud Accounts.

Software and data on the same computer

If your data is held on the same computer as Sage 50cloud Accounts, just Install your software as normal and the Sage Accounts Data Service installs automatically as part of the installation.

Software not installed on data computer

You must install the data service on a computer that doesn't have Sage 50cloud Accounts installed, separately. To do this:

1. On the computer that holds your data, click the relevant link for your version: 
   • Sage Accounts v28 - SageAccounts_v28.1_DataService.exe
   • Sage Accounts v27.2 - Sage50Accounts_27.2_Dataservice.exe
   • Sage Accounts v27 - Sage50Accounts_27.1_Dataservice.exe
   • Sage Accounts v26 - Sage50Accounts_26.3_Dataservice.exe
   • Sage Accounts v25 - Sage_50_Accounts_V25.1_DataService_Full Install.exe
   • Sage Accounts v24 - Sage_50_Accounts_V24_DataService.exe
   • Sage Accounts v23 - Sage 50 Accounts Service v23.msi
   • Sage Accounts v22 - Sage Accounts v22 - ClientServerSetup.exe
   • Sage Accounts v21 - Sage Accounts v21 - ClientServerSetup.exe
     
     
2. If prompted to save the file, note the file name then click Save. 
   
   Depending on your web browser, the file may automatically save to your Downloads folder. To view your Downloads folder, press Ctrl + J on your keyboard.
   
   
3. Browse to and double-click the file downloaded, then follow the on-screen prompts.
   
   
4. Once complete, to install the latest updates for the data service, click the relevant link for your version:
   
   • Sage Accounts v28 - No update needed
   • Sage Accounts v27 - No update needed
   • Sage Accounts v26 - No update needed
   • Sage Accounts v25 - No update needed
   • Sage Accounts v24 - Sage 50 Accounts v24.2 update
   • Sage Accounts v23 - Sage Accounts v23 - May 2017 Improvements update (23.2)
   • Sage Accounts v22 - Sage 50 Accounts v22 - May 2016 Improvements update
   • Sage Accounts v21 - Sage Accounts - Service Pack 8 Server Update
     
     
5. If prompted to save the file, note the file name then click Save. 
   
   Depending on your web browser, the file may automatically save to your Downloads folder. To view your Downloads folder, press Ctrl + J on your keyboard.
   
   
6. Browse to and double-click the file downloaded, then follow the on-screen prompts.
   
   Alternatively, right click on the filed downloaded, click Run as administrator, then follow the on-screen prompts. This ensures permissions do not block the installation.
   
   NOTE: During installation prompts, make sure to select the option Data service only install.
