Check if you're a Windows administrator on your computer.

You need to log in as a Windows administrator before installing or updating your Sage software.

Check your Windows version

The steps differ depending on what version you use. 

1. Press the Windows key + R.
2. In the Run box, type winver, then select OK.
3. In About Windows, note the version.

Check if you're a Windows administrator

Windows 11

1. Select the Start button, then your user name at the bottom of the taskbar.
2. Choose Change account settings.
3. On the Your info page, look under your account name.
   If it says Administrator, you have admin rights.

Windows 10 or Windows 8

1. Press Windows key + R, type netplwiz, then select OK.
2. In the User Accounts window, check your account type.
   If it shows Administrator, you have admin rights.
