What if an employee already has a company pension? If contributions are active in Payroll, NAERSA detects this and won't enrol the employee into My Future Fund. What if an employee paused their company pension? If no active contributions are in payroll, NAERSA treats the employee as without a scheme and enrols them into My Future Fund. Can an employee have two pensions at once? Yes, temporarily. An employee can contribute on both their company scheme and My Future Fund until NAERSA issues an AEPN removing them from My Future Fund. Can employees stop My Future Fund while waiting? Yes. Employees can suspend contributions themselves through their online portal. You can't do this on their behalf. How does an employee move from My Future Fund to a company pension? Add them to the company pension in Payroll. NAERSA detects the contributions and sends an AEPN removing them from My Future Fund. What about private pensions outside Payroll? NAERSA doesn't detect private pensions outside Payroll. NAERSA can enrol these employees. They opt out or suspend through the employee portal if they don’t want to contribute.
