Enable Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) for your business
Description

Before you can create RCT-related transactions in Sage Accounting, you must enable RCT for your business.

You can choose to enable RCT as:

  • A subcontractor
  • A principal contractor (you must be VAT registered)
  • Both

NOTE: Only subcontractor functionality is available for businesses using Sage Accounting Start.

Once enabled, Sage Accounting will:

  • Add new RCT control accounts to your Chart of Accounts
  • Make RCT fields available on customer, supplier, and transaction screens
  • Allow you to generate RCT-specific reports

If you’re not sure whether your business needs to use RCT, read this article first: What is RCT and who needs to use it?
