| Digital Certificate Troubleshooting Service |
Description | If you are a Tax agent running Payroll on behalf of an employer you need to complete the following steps. You can't use an Agent Certificate to process payroll until you have. Agents should: - Enable TAIN submissions and record your TAIN in Payroll - This ID is case-sensitive.
- Ensure you have been set up within ROS to submit on behalf of your client.
|
Resolution | Digital Cert Troubleshooting- Can you log into ROS using the certificate? - This indicates the certificate is active for the business
- Have you reset the certificate password recently? - If so, download a new copy
- Has the user removed old certificates from Step 2 of the pay run. Have they cleared browsing history?
- Does the certificate password contain non alpha-numeric characters (for example, ?$@ etc).
If so:- Reset the password.
- Enter a new password with numbers or letters only.
- Re-download the certificate.
- Is the customer an agent? Have they entered their TAIN and enabled agent submissions in the client account?
The RPN (Revenue Payment Notifcations)- The RPN files replace the old P2C files that businesses used to download from ROS for employees
- Each employee in Payroll will have an RPN retrieved from ROS. It details their rates, thresholds, cut-offs and the YTD values for previous employments
- If an RPN is not available for a new employee, the service will attempt to create a new RPN for that employee. The employee needs a PPSN number and Employment ID in their payroll Employee record
- Step 2 of every pay run checks RPNs with ROS. If needed, the system will retrieve RPN's to apply to employees
