'You have entered an invalid password' message with Windows FIPS encryption enabled
Description

If you've changed your Windows encryption settings to enable the option 'Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption'.

Cause
Resolution

To resolve this issue, disable the 'Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption' in your Windows settings.

  1. Press the Windows key + R.
  2. In the Run window, enter secpol.msc then click OK.

    The Local Security Policy windows appears.

  3. Expand Local Policies and click Security Options.
  4. Scroll down and double-click System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing.



  5. Select Disabled then click OK and close the Local Security Policy window.

NOTE: If you create a new company with FIPS enabled, when you log in, the program will prompt you to set a password and security questions.
