When sending reports or layouts to email in Sage 50 Accounts v27.2 and above, the following message may appear:

'A problem occurred when sending your email. Please restart your computer and retry. If the problem persists, you may need to reinstall your Sage software and Microsoft Office. Generic COM Error.'

This message appears when you run Microsoft Outlook as a Windows administrator, but you run Sage 50 Accounts with a standard level of access.

To resolve this, run both Sage 50 Accounts and Microsoft Outlook with the same level of access. We recommend you run both as an administrator:

1. Right-click the program shortcut, click Properties.
2. Click the Compatibility tab.
3. Under Privilege Level, select the Run this program as an administrator check box.
4. Click OK then open the software.

If this isn't possible, don't run either program as an administrator. Follow the steps above to clear the Run this program as an administrator check box.
