Roll forward your Holiday and Absence Years
Description

When you set a period on the last day of the holiday year, or on a date outside the holiday year, the Roll forward Holiday and Absence Year window appears.

Here we explain what options are available to help you make the correct changes for your payroll.

Cause
Resolution

You must choose one of two options when this message appears at the start of a period:

Roll forward the Payroll’s holiday and absence year

TIP: If this window appears in Sage Payroll 2021 where your holiday year end date is 31 December 2021, we recommend waiting until setting the first pay period in Sage Payroll 2022.

  • Carry forward employee holidays due into next holiday year - Any entitlement left in the previous year is carried into the current year. This value is entered into Holidays B/F field in the Holidays tab of each employee record. This value is recorded in days.
  • Set up the Payroll’s next holiday year start and end dates - This option advances the the start and finish dates of the payroll's holiday year in Company Details > Holidays.
  • Set employee’s holiday adjustment to zero -Any value entered in the Holiday Adjustment (+/-) in the Holidays tab of each employee record to 0.00.

Do not roll forward the Payroll's holiday and absence year

  • No action is taken and the holiday year is not advanced in Company Details > Holidays. This message will continue to appear each time you set the period.

TIP: If you do not use Sage Payroll's Holiday Accrual feature, you can change the holiday year start and end dates to the current calendar year to stop this window appearing each pay period.
