Roll forward your Holiday and Absence Years
Description

When you set a period on the last day of the holiday year, or on a date outside the holiday year, the following window appears.

Here we explain what options are available to help you make the correct changes for your payroll.

Cause
Resolution

When this message appears, you must either roll forward and then choose the relevant clear down settings or, don't roll forward:

Roll forward the Payroll’s holiday and absence year

TIP: If it appears in Sage Payroll 2024 and your holiday year end date is 31 December 2024, wait until you're setting the first pay period in Sage Payroll 2025.

Clear down settings

  • Carry forward employee holidays due into next holiday year - Any entitlement left in the previous year carries into the current year. This value shows in the Holidays B/F field in the Holidays tab of each employee record. This value is in days.
  • Set up the Payroll’s next holiday year start and end dates - This option advances the start and finish dates of the payroll's holiday year in Company Details > Holidays.
  • Set employee’s holiday adjustment to zero - Any value entered in the Holiday Adjustment (+/-) in the Holidays tab of each employee record to 0.00.

Do not roll forward the Payroll's holiday and absence year

  • The holiday year doesn't advance in Company Details > Holidays. This message continues to appear each time you set the period.

TIP: If you don't use the Holiday Accrual feature, change the holiday year start and end dates to the current calendar year. This stops this window appearing each pay period.
