The Customer record - Donor tab
Description

If you use the Charities features in Sage 50 Accounts, you can create customer records for donors and record information such as membership details and Gift Aid information on Donor tab. Let's do this now.

Access a customer record

  • On the navigation bar click Customers, then click New or double-click the required customer record.  Read more > 

TIP: To create a new customer record based on an existing one, from the list view select the customer, then click Duplicate.

Customer record Donor tab
Donor information
TitleThe donor's title.
ForenameThe donor's forename.
SurnameThe donor's surname.
Default Fund

You can assign a fund to the customer record to speed up transaction entry. When you record income from this customer, this fund is automatically assigned to the transaction. You can change the fund as you post the transaction if required.

Gift Aid Declaration Received

If you intend to reclaim tax for charitable donations, select this check box if you've received a Gift Aid declaration for this donor.

This setting is used when generating the Gift Aid report which details customers that have made donations. These details cover a customer’s name, address and the tax that can be reclaimed.

To ensure money received from a customer is included in the report, you must record the donation as an invoice or donation.

Declaration Valid From
The date the declaration is valid from. This information is for reference purposes only and doesn't affect the Gift Aid report.
Account Type
DonorTo flag the record as a donor, select this check box. You can use the filter on your main customer list to show only donors.
MemberTo flag the record as a member, select this check box. You can use the filter on your main customer list to show only members.
CustomerTo flag the record as a customer, select this check box. You can use the filter on your main customer list to show only customers.
Membership Details
Member sinceEnter the date membership began if applicable.
Renewal dueEnter the date membership renewal is due if applicable.
ReminderEnter the number of days before renewal that a reminder should be sent.
