NOTE: If you're using Sage 50 Accounts v25 or below or, if the wording of your error message doesn't match the above, you can use Search for answers at the top of this article.

When you open v26 or above, the following message may appear:

'This data was last used with version <data version> of Sage Accounts. You are currently using version <software version>. You must update this version of Sage Accounts before accessing the data. Would you like to check for updates now?'

When you click to check for updates you get the message:

'No automatic updates found for <data version>.'

This message appears when the company data has been opened in a more recently updated version of Sage 50 Accounts than the version you're using, and the update isn't available through the auto update feature.

To install the latest update for your version of Sage 50 Accounts

All installations must be on the same version and build of Sage 50 Accounts. Once you have installed the update on this computer, you may also have to install it on other computers that access this data.

1. Log onto your computer as an administrator and close all software.
2. Click the link below, for the relevant version you are using:
   • v30 - Download Sage 50 Accounts v30.1 update >
   • v29 - Download Sage 50 Accounts v29.2 update >
   • v28 - Download Sage 50 Accounts v28.1 update >
   • v27 - Download Sage 50 Accounts v27.2 update >
   • v26 - Download Sage 50 Accounts v26.3 update >
     
     

      NOTE: If you're using an earlier version, for example v25, and want to install the latest version, please visit the Installation Help Centre > 
     

     
     Depending on your browser the update downloads, or click Save.
     
     
3. Locate and right-click update, then select Run as Administrator.
4. Once the installation is complete, open Sage 50 Accounts.
5. On the menu bar click Help, click About.
6. Under Program Details, check this now shows the latest version:
   
   • v30 - 30.1.343.0
   • v29 - 29.2.398.0
   • v28 - 28.1.404.0
   • v27 - 27.1.562.0
   • v26 - 26.3.245.0

No Internet access?

If the computer doesn't have Internet access, you can copy the downloaded update file from a computer that does have Internet access and run the file.

To do this, download the relevant update using the links in the above section and transfer it using a USB/data stick to the computer with no Internet access. Once you have the install file on your computer, double click the file to run the installation.

Once you are on the latest version, try to access the company again.
