Resolution

The Additional Superannuation Contribution (ASC) applies to public sector employees. If your employees are liable for ASC deductions, you must assign the correct ASC settings in their records.

  1. Open Sage 50 Payroll Ireland, then sign in to your payroll.
  2. Go to Processing, then Employee Details.
  3. Next to the Surname box, select Browse, then choose the relevant employee.
  4. Go to the Deductions tab.
  5. Under Public Sector – Additional Superannuation Contribution (ASC):
    • In the ASC Status list, select the relevant option
    • If the employee is in subsidiary employment, select the Subsidiary checkbox

When you select Subsidiary, ASC calculates at the highest rate for that employee’s pension scheme.

    • Standard or fast accrual scheme: 10.5%
    • Single scheme: 7%
  6. In Pension Scheme, select the pension scheme for the employee.
  7. If the employee has an ASC45 form from a previous employer, enter their ASC year to date details.
  8. Select Save.
  9. Repeat steps 3 to 8 for each employee liable for ASC deductions.

If you have multiple payrolls, repeat these steps in each one if applicable.
