In Sage 50 Accounts, the Sage Accounts Data and Control services run on the computer or server where your Sage 50 Accounts data is held and also on all other computers with Sage 50 Accounts installed. These services control the reading and writing of data and other essential functions.

If you have a problem accessing your data, it's easy to check if the services are running.

Check the services are running

1. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard.
2. Enter services.msc, click OK.
3. Find the relevant service for your Sage 50 Accounts version:

   Sage 50 Accounts v28	Sage 50 Accounts Service v28 Sage 50 Accounts Control v28

   Sage 50 Accounts v26	Sage 50 Accounts Service v26 Sage 50 Accounts Control v26
   Sage 50 Accounts v25	Sage 50 Accounts Service v25 Sage 50 Accounts Control v25
   Sage 50 Accounts v24	Sage 50 Accounts Service v24 Sage 50 Accounts Control v24

4. Check the Status of the service shows as Started. If not, to start the service, right-click the service and click Start.
